Here at Chimes@Midnight, we love cocktails. They're fun to drink, of course, but every bit as much fun to make and adapt and riff on and discuss. We especially love trying new cocktails. Each month or so, we'll introduce here a cocktail that strikes our fancy, provide the base recipe and then the permutations we develop. Feel free to try it our way or make it you own.
As is often the case, tonight's cocktail starts with the recipe from Tuxedo No. 2 With its combination of rhum agricole, suze, falernum and lime juice, the Tour le Carbet offers a range of uncommon flavors--and a number of elements to play with. First, which rhum agricole to use?
At Chimes, we seek out ingredients daily, but we also believe in substituting what's on hand. We happen to have a half bottle of Barbancourt 8-year, so we'll start with that.
